Vendakai Poriyal/Ladys Finger Fry

I remember our elders scaring us saying that only if we eat ladys finger our brain will be sharp and alert.I am very bad with calculation but I sure did eat lots of this vegetable so I guess its a not true after all.Its sticky vegetable but sure is tasty and healthy.This vegetable is used all around the world in different ways this is south Indian way.

  • Prep Time : 10 minutes
  • Cook Time : 20 minutes
  • Yield : 2

Instructions

  1. Heat the kadai/pan pour some oil and add mustard seeds let them splutter then add urad dal,jeera,curry leaves.
  2. Fry onion,tomatoes till they become soft and tender.Now add lady's finger/vendakai to the mix and fry for 5 to 8 min.
  3. If the curry gets sticky add some tamarind paste to it.Now add some salt to ita nd fry for soem more time.
  4. Now add red chilly powder,turmeric powder and mix well.
  5. Saute them till they become crispy and remove from fire.

NOTE:

  • you can add rice flour little bit if you want it little crispy.
  • you can add sambar powder instead of the chilly or turmeric powder if you prefer i personally dont like those ready made powder so i use this way but its personal preference.
  • so feel free to explore the taste according to your taste buds.
