Moong Dal
Moong Dal is full of proteins its a must food to our diet.Try to consume lot of dals variety to your daily life routine.One of the best dals eaten with chapathi,basmathi,rice.No need of soaking, it gets cooked very fast so quick to make and yummy to tummy.Ghee is must to this dal its helps to enhance the flavor so do not omit ghee.

Ingredients
- Moong dal/mung dal - 1 cup
- Onion,finely chopped - 1/2 cup
- Green chillies,long slit - 6
- Tomato - 1/2 cup
- Ginger,chopped fine - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Lemon - 2 tsp
- Coriander leaves,finely chopped - as per requirement
- Salt to taste
- For Seasoning
- Ghee/Oil - 2 tsp
- Dry red chillies - 2
- Jeera - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - as per requirement
Instructions
- Boil 1 cup dal with 2 cups of water they should be 1/2 cooked then keep the dal and water separate.
- Now add some ghee to the kadai/pan fry red chillies& jeera for sometime now add curry leaves,onion,ginger,green chillies,tomatoes and saute till they become soft and tender.
- Pour the dal water that was kept separate and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Now add some turmeric powder,red chilly powder,salt and let it boil till the raw smell goes.
- Now add dal to the mix since its only half cooked let it get cooked for 5-10 more minutes.
- We don't want the dal to be fully cooked because moong dal taste good only when the skin is half mashed like seen in the pic.
- Now remove them from fire and add lemon juice and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
