Vendakai Poriyal/Ladys Finger Fry
I remember our elders scaring us saying that only if we eat ladys finger our brain will be sharp and alert.I am very bad with calculation but I sure did eat lots of this vegetable so I guess its a not true after all.Its sticky vegetable but sure is tasty and healthy.This vegetable is used all around the world in different ways this is south Indian way.

Ingredients
- Vendakai/Ladys finger - 1 cup
- Onion,finely chopped - 1
- Tomato,finely chopped - 1/4 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/ tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
- For Seasoning
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal(ulandham paruppu) - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat the kadai/pan pour some oil and add mustard seeds let them splutter then add urad dal,jeera,curry leaves.
- Fry onion,tomatoes till they become soft and tender.Now add lady's finger/vendakai to the mix and fry for 5 to 8 min.
- If the curry gets sticky add some tamarind paste to it.Now add some salt to ita nd fry for soem more time.
- Now add red chilly powder,turmeric powder and mix well.
- Saute them till they become crispy and remove from fire.
NOTE:
- you can add rice flour little bit if you want it little crispy.
- you can add sambar powder instead of the chilly or turmeric powder if you prefer i personally dont like those ready made powder so i use this way but its personal preference.
