Pesto Pizza, How to make pesto pizza at home, pesto pizza made from scratch, Pesto pizza recipe

Pesto Pizza is simple to make and its very tasty. All you need is homemade or store bought pesto sauce. I love this pesto pizza a lot then the regular vegetable pizza. The base is so much tastier with pesto sauce than the marinara sauce. It takes only 15 mins to spread the veggies if the base and pesto sauce is ready. You can also minimize the work if you plan to make it quick for your guest either by getting the pizza base or pesto sauce from shop. But there’s nothing like a freshly homemade pizza made from scratch. I have Pesto sauce made ready at home. I use it for lot of things and it taste so good on breads when grilling them and I add on veggie omelet and My hubby adds it to egg omelet too. I don’t eat non veg but he says it taste so good on egg. Have you tried on Dosa, well it taste so damn good and I will post the recipe very soon. I enjoy this pesto sauce with everything.

Recipes used with pesto are…..Pesto pasta, Pasta Primavera, Pea pesto crostini this can be made if pesto is ready in hand. I LOVE the flavor of basil and nuts in them. When applied on any toast or hot bread they melt in your mouth. Never tried on chapathi though hmm… have to experiment on that lets see. Making Pizza at home is super easy when ingredients are followed correctly. I have made VEGGIE PIZZA at home too. But pesto pizza is more preferred and my daughter loves it a lot. All you need is love for pizza and little patience while making the dough. You can use any veggies of your choice. I add mushroom also to this recipe for my husband, since I don’t like it I add more pineapple to my side.

Instructions

I have used 50-50 of all purpose flour and wheat flour for this pesto pizza. I like how the crust turns out when its used 50:50. Now off to making pizza base....

1. In a bowl add 1 cup of water and warm it. When I say lukewarm that means it should be warm but not hot. When you touch your water with your finger, it should be bearable. If its too hot then the yeast wont rise. This step is very important.

2. Take a small bowl, now add sugar, yeast and mix it well. To this add lukewarm water and mix it again and let it rest for 10-15 mins. It will form bubbles and you will get sour smell and the liquid will look puffed up. (If this stage doesn't happen, then either your yeast has expired or the water is very hot. This step is super important. If it doesn't rise well then you will not get a good crust pizza base)

3. Now take a wide bowl, add wheat and all purpose flour equally in it. Now add 1-1/2 tsp salt, mix it well. To this add olive oil and then pour the puffed yeast water and mix it slowly little by little with dough.

4. You will get a nice elastic kind of dough. Knead it for 10 mins to get a soft dough. .Now coat some olive oil to the pan and place the dough and cover it. Let it sit for 2 hrs. More it rests ,more soft the dough will turn to be. I always make it around 4 in the evening and use it by 7 to make pizza.

5. When you open it after 2-3 hrs, you will find the dough raised double the size. Beat it well so the bubbles are released. Now start making it round, using a rolling pin. Then add homemade pesto sauce and spread it nicely. If you want to feel just the pesto aroma, just add tomatoes, capsicum and cheese.

6. If you want more veggies then add all the mentioned veggies on top or any topping to your liking. Then sprinkle Italian seasoning liberally on top. Now add mozzarella cheese and finally sprinkle olive oil on top and its ready to go inside the oven. You can make 3 small sized pizza or 2 medium sized pizza with this dough.

7. Bake at 425 deg F for 15-20 mins or until its little brown on top. Take it from oven and slice them to 6 slices and enjoy the pizza. Pesto pizza is ready to eat. YUMMMM....

Roasted Garlic Potato wedges are big hit recipe in my parties or get together. It’s always been kids favourite. All ages love this. I usually make it in a huge batch say like 15-20 potatoes. It vanishes in less than 5-10 mins. Its super tasty snack to enjoy with your friends and family. If you haven’t tried , then you definitely must. You are missed out a great snack. So adding more ingredients is up to your own imagination. I always like using fresh garlic pieces and also little bit of powdered garlic powder, but its totally optional since fresh chopped garlic anyways bring an awesome flavor to the potatoes.

Grilling potatoes or baking potatoes is so much fun. Our family always have special dinners or snacks. Friday nights are always special and I always make grilled stuff or I enjoy baking or d some dips and try some different cuisine snacks. When I have unexpected guest then the first thing I start preparing is this roasted garlic potato wedges. It’s fun to make and will never disappoint you.

Instructions

1. Wash potatoes. Do not remove the skin. Dry them well. Chop potato to wedges and put them in a bowl.

2. I always use ziplock for mixing all the ingredient together. If you don't have it, just take a big bowl and mix everything together.

3. First add potatoes and then add oil and then step by step add everything mentioned in the list above. Coat everything well. Let it marinate for 10-15 mins.

4. Now switch on the oven and set to 400 deg F. Once it reaches the temperature, take a cookie pan or any long pan and cover it with aluminum foil. Spray some oil so the potatoes don't stick to the foil. Then spread the potatoes evenly and close the oven lid.

5. Now bake it for 45 mins or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Try to flip it every 15 mins so they don't get burnt. You can sprinkle some parmesan cheese after taking the potatoes out. Adding extra cheese is def tasty and you can less spice if you are serving it for kids. I forgot to click the pic that had cheese sprinkled.

6. Yummy crispy and spicy potatoes are ready to serve. Enjoy it as evening snack or during movie time or have fun with your friends for kitty parties.

1. In a bowl add softened butter and sugar and whip them soft and fluffy to this add condensed milk and beat for few sec till they are well mixed. To this add baking powder, salt, vanilla essence and whisk for few more mins. To this slowly add the flour little by little and let it blend.
2. Now transfer the mix 60% to another bowl and add food color to the 40% mix. I added pink color since it was valentine day. You can add any color of your choice.
3. Now pre heat oven to 350 deg F and I took cake tin and sprayed with oil. On top of it I placed parchment paper and poured the pink batter mix to this(parchment paper is used so that the bottom part is not burnt)

4. Now place it for 20-30 min in oven and bake it. Prick with a stick in center to check if its done. If the stick comes out clean its done perfectly. Then remove from oven and let it cool. Once cooled using cookie cutter(heart shaped) cut the cake and keep it separate.

5. With the remaining 60% dough, take cupcake pan and place the liners and spray it little bit with oil and add 2 tsp of dough on each liner, then place the cut heart shape cake pieces in center of the cupcake. Press it till the bottom and cover it up with 3 tsp of batter. Don't over fill it just till the heart is covered.

6. Bake it again at 350 deg F for 20-25 min, prick at sides to see if they are well cooked. When done remove from oven and cool it off.

FOR ICING:
1. In a bowl whisk unsalted butter and icing sugar/ Confectioners sugar till smooth. Add vanilla essence and 3 tsp of milk. If the dough is still tight you can add more milk and it should be perfect enough to ice the cake. Using the icing pipe cover up the cupcake and add sprinklers on top of it and serve it to your loved one. To see the hidden heart inside cut the cupcake in center so cute isn't it???? I love valentine day.

Instructions

1. Take handful of hazelnuts and break them. Chop the nuts finely.

2. In a bowl whisk butter and sugar till they become soft and fluffy. Remember butter should always be at room temperature. To this add nutella mix it again, Then add cocoa powder & baking powder and stir again. Now to this add all purpose flour and fold them well.

3. Then add yogurt and whisk for few secs. See if they are blended well without any lumps. Now add nuts. The dough may look thick so dilute it with 1/4 cup of milk and it should look like a cake dough consistency.

4. Grease the square tin. I used 9 inch one. To this add the dough and level it right. Sprinkle some nuts on top. Now bake it at 350 deg F for 30-45 mins. For me it took 35 mins. Insert a tooth pick in center to see if its done. If it comes out clean then its done,if the dough sticks to the stick then it needs to bake for few more mins.

5. Take the brownies out and let it cool for 15 mins then cut them to cubes and eat it just plain or serve it with vanilla Ice cream on side. So yummm.

6. For this measurement I got 25 brownies.

It's Christmas and I was not sure what to bake, then I noticed one bowl of dry fruits sitting in my kitchen cabinet for long so thought of making a quick fruit cake. My daughter is not a great fan of chopped fruits in cake, she will remove everything so I added only half of what I have mentioned but try to use 1 full cup of fruits for 1 1/2 cup of flour. I love the color and the taste of it. Its not too sweet and the orange zest flavor is awesome. I have developed a taste for this orange zest ,so I have started using it in many of my food recipes. Please don't skip it. You will notice an amazing flavor difference. Well enjoy the Christmas with this quick fruit cake.

Instructions

1. Chop the dry fruits to fine pieces. Then in a pan add 2 cups of water let it boil then add the chopped dry fruits and let it boil for 10 mins.

2. This way the dry fruits become soft and will be easy to bake.

3. Meanwhile sieve the flour well, then add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, salt, baking soda and mix it well together.

4. Now in a separate cup whip the sugar and butter till they are frothy and then add the dry fruits, keep the water separate for now. Then mix the flour and fold them well. Slowly add the water that was leftover from the dry fruit mix and fold all together. Add vanilla essence.

5. Now if you want you can add 2 tsp of rum to this or you can skip this step. Now grate orange peel and mix them all up. I used only 3/4 cup of dry fruits but try to use nearly one cup or more for 1 1/2 cups of flour. Then once everything is done, pour them in a greased pan and bake it at 375 deg F for 30-40 mins. Insert a tooth pick to check if its baked correctly. If the tooth pick comes out clean then its perfectly done.

6. Now nicely powder the sugar in blender and spread on top of the cake to get that perfect finish. Enjoy it with your family.

1. In a bowl sieve flour well, to this add soda, baking powder, sugar, cocoa powder. To this add butter and vanilla essence and beat it well. No lumps should be formed.

2. Now add milk and little water if necessary. it should be little watery.

Then coat the cones with using spatula. Then I used star tip nozzle for making tree shape. Place inch by inch and decorate.

Instructions

1. In a big bowl sieve the flour and add baking soda, baking powder and mix it well.

2. Now in another bowl mix melted butter and condensed milk together, then add this to the flour and stir it well so no lumps are formed. Then add orange juice and vanilla essence and stir it again. The batter consistency will be little thick. Don't dilute it very thin.

3. Now coat tutti frutti with 2 tsp of all purpose flour, this is done so they don't get settled at bottom while baking. Then grease a loaf pan. I have used 8 inch and pour the batter inside and bake it at 350 def F for 40-45 mins,or until the cake is cooked. when you prick with a stick in center it will come out clean, then its perfect. If dough sticks to the pin then bake it for few more mins.

4. Remove from oven and let it cool down for 5 mins. Then using sharp knife slide the edge in pan and the tilt cake,it will come out perfect. Then let it cool for 30 mins.

5. Perfect tutti frutti orange cake is ready. I loved the softy taste of it.Slice and enjoy this delicious cake. The addition of orange juice was really good.

Instructions

1. Keep butter at room temperature. Add sugar and butter in a bowl and whisk it well, till they become frothy and lite.

2. To this add all purpose flour and mix it well. Then add almond essence and mix it well. Let everything blend together. Take a major part of dough and keep it separate. Remaining dough divide to two parts.

3. Add green food color to one part and red food color to another batch. Mix it well. Then make cap like shape with both color and keep it separate. Then make long roll with both color for scarf and spiral both together. Keep everything ready so that its easy to assemble.

4. Grease pan. Now with the major part of dough make two balls one smaller and one bigger and arrange on a cookie pan like shown in pic. Then assemble both scarf and cap as shown in pic. For eyes I used sesame seed and for mouth I rubbed little jam with knife.

5. Then bake it at 350 deg F for 15 mins and remove from oven and cool it on a rack . After 10 mins you can eat soft and crunchy snowman cookies so yumm. I got 35 snowman cookies with the measurement I have given.

Instructions

Quick way to make Khaman Dhokla....
1. Heat 1 cup of water, let it be warm not too hot or boiling temperature.Just lukewarm. Then in a bowl add besan flour, sugar, salt, yogurt/curd, ginger&green chilly paste, oil and turmeric powder. Mix it well.

2. Now add the lukewarm water little by little and keep stirring. See to that no lumps are formed. The batter should be smooth. It shouldn't be too thick or too thin.

3. Now let it sit for 20 mins. Mean while boil water in a heavy bottomed vessel. I used idly vessel here for steaming. I had a round pan to pour the batter. You can use square shape too.

4. Now once the water is boiling well, add ENO FRUIT SALT and quickly mix the batter. You can see batter fluffing and raising while you mix.

5. Now take the pan and spray some non stick oil and pour the batter immediately. See that the batter is leveled correctly, then place it inside the idly vessel or any big heavy bottomed vessel. Now cover it and do not open for 30 mins. Let it steam well.

6. After 30 mins dhoklas are nicely steamed and they look soft and fluffy. Now take a plate and tilt the dhokla bowl on top of it. Let it cool down for a min.

7. Meanwhile do the seasoning mentioned above by adding oil, to this add mustard, curry leaves, dry red chillies, hing and switch it off. Then add grated coconut, white sesame seeds and coriander leaves. Then pour this on top of dhokla. Now cut it in to square shape and serve it with tasty green chutney on side or you can just eat it plain. Either way they taste so good.

Everyone in my house loves capsicum and there's so much to explore with colored capsicum. I try to add it in most of my grilled veggies because of their radiant color combination. This time I was all in for appetizer food idea since I have guest visiting on most weekends. I love cheese who doesn't right??? So I was thinking why not make panner pizza kind of combination with capsicum. It would taste good and its perfect for appetizers. I tried it and was very happy with the results.... it was mouth drooling so yummm....

I read the ingredients needed and it sounded pretty simple so came home and searched for the right recipe and started making this. I loved the result cute little ice cream snuggling inside the chocolate cookie. I have changed the shape of it to heart instead of long rectangle but its up to you with the shape. Anyways it will taste good so its up to us.

Instructions

1. In a bowl whisk sugar and butter together till they become soft and fluffy. In a separate bowl sieve dry ingredients like all purpose flour, soda, baking powder, cocoa powder in a bowl and mix it well with the butter whisk.

2. Add little milk and mix it well. Make a non sticky ball and wrap them in a plastic sheet and store them in refrigerator for 10-15 mins.

3. Now add little flour below and roll them with roller. It should be 1/2 inch thick. Then using a cutter cut to any required shape you want and place them in aluminum sheet for baking.

4. Bake them at 350 deg F for 10 mins. Then let it cool down.

5. Now take the required ice cream flavor and cut them to same shape and place it in between the 2 baked heart cookies like sandwich, then place it immediately in freezer to get firm. Serve it chilled after half an hr or 1 hr. Yummy tasty ice- cream sandwich is ready. I kept the sandwich for quite a long time to get some decent clicks, but they didn't turn out the way I wanted. Hmm its okay. Enjoy this yummy dessert.

I love grilling veggies... charred veggies give very good taste, this time I learned a new spicy peanut sauce dressing and just loved it. Hubby presented me a veggie book that had full grilling and it has all kind of veggies names and all can be grilled and enjoyed. Best book ever. The book is called " The New Vegetarian Grill" by Andrea Chesman. She has more than 80 recipes and its really good. I would recommend for veggie grill lovers. The peanut sauce was recommended for the brinjal but it went very well with all veggies.
1. Peel sweet potato skin. Cut the ends of beans, broccoli and brinjal.

2. Wash and pat dry with a tissue paper. Now season it with olive oil, salt and pepper. Spread them on pan with aluminum foil on bottom and toss the veggies well. Bake it at 400 deg F. Each veggies require different time to cook so take them out according to required taste.

3. Say for eg..broccoli needs 15-20 mins baking. sweet potato & beans need 10 mins and brinjal needs 20 mins. When the outer skin is cooked test each veggie and remove from oven accordingly. Now off to spicy peanut sauce making.
