<p>Making good coffee comes with practise. Smelling the fresh brewed coffee filter feels so happy and calming. Guest would love a thick filter coffee. They usually call filter coffee as <strong>degree coffee</strong>. Reason for calling that is because of the boiling water that&#8217;s poured inside the filter cup and its brews a thick strong aroma. People make thick decoction, the first serving is called degree coffee according to my knowledge. Coffee lovers don&#8217;t enjoy the second serving of diluted coffee.                 <p style="text-align: left;">1. To make filter coffee, we need to use coffee filter( this is the coffee filter used by south Indians) as shown in picture. It has 4 pieces. Upper and lower cup, lid and pressure stick.<br />

2. Now boil some water say one cup, let it boil for 5 mins. Now add 4 tsp of  coffee powder to the filter . Tap with your finger , so the powder gets settled . Now use the pressure handle as seen in pic and press it lightly on coffee powder. Now pour the hot boiling water say to 3/4 th of the upper cup and close the lid. Let it sit for15-30 mins. Filter coffee decoction takes time, if you like it thick. Sometimes if you add more water then the decoction gets filled with in 3 mins and you will end up having diluted decoction. So be careful when you add water. Don't add too much of water. one person need 2 tsp of coffee powder to get a thick and strong flavored coffee. I just used a tsp extra since my hubby likes his coffee very strong. I just use that extra decoction to pour on top just before serving.</p>

3. Let it get filtered. I have placed a small bowl below the filter since I had brewed to full cup today and it might spill out and spoil the floor, so I just used to cup to keep the kitchen tile clean. Meantime, boil the milk and when its boiled switch off the flame. Now take stainless glass as seen pic or use a coffee mug to make the coffee. Add 1+1/4 tsp of sugar, then add the thick coffee decoction and mix it using another cup till the decoction gets little frothy. Now add the hot milk and again using another cup mix  it until the coffee gets little thick and forms frothy on top. or you can just add milk to the glass first and then add decoction, sugar and  mix it to get thick coffee. Both ways work. Now just before serving, I add little decoction on top . This will give a very good aroma to the coffee and my husband prefer it that way. This is chennai style coffee when you order in restaurant. Everyone makes this kind of filter coffee at home and its very tasty.<br />

I love lemonade based juices a lot. Its very refreshing and taste so good all the time. When ginger and mint is added it just takes the freshness to different level. Whenever I sip masala lemonade I can feel my tummy dong hola dance. I can feel my body thanking me. If you are health freak then avoid sugar and add honey, it will taste very very good. I usually add only honey to all my drinks but for ICED TEA and LEMONADE I make exception. Sometimes sugar does feel good for bringing back that energy in my body. This masala lemonade will give instant wake up call to your lazy body and brain. Drinking lemonade everyday has lots of health benefits and this masala lemonade can be had for a quick change.</p>
<p>I serve this to my guest during parties, kitty party, birthday and they all love it. Its always fun to add little extra in a simple lemon juice and instantly body feels refreshed. I give lemonade tomy kids without spice but my daughter will request for the same masala lemonade that we are drinking. She would always want black salt little extra and I love the way she makes her happy face when she has her first sip. Okay  now off to making of <strong>Masala lemonade</strong>.</p>

<p>Most of them like to add the fruit  juice at the end after steeping the tea in the water, but I like to add fruits directly and let them get soften and boil for few min. Adding the tea powder directly will need filtering. So its up to you. I added tea powder here since most of us don&#8217;t carry pr keep the tea bags at home. Its totally up to you. </center><!-- End GADSWPV-3.16.4 --><p style="text-align: center;">1.  In a bowl add 2 cups of water and let it boil for 5 mins. To this add pineapple pieces and let it boil for 5 more mins. Now add tea bag or tea powder and switch off the flame.<br />

2. Now add sugar and basil leaves. Let them melt in this heat and let it cool off completely.</p>

3. Now take off the pineapple pieces and blend them to pulp and add it back to the water.</p>
<p>4. Now filter everything and keep it separately. You can either do this way or just do the above process and avoid adding pineapple pieces and you can directly add as pineapple juice at the end.<br />

<p><span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Watermelon Lemonade</strong></span> taste so good and best for summer. People who read my blog know my love for juices, especially WATERMELON. I can literally live my life just sipping this drink whole day. I love watermelon so much. It not only cools your body but benefits your health in so many ways. I love adding different fruits to watermelon and enjoy it with different flavor. Default ingredient would be mint or lemon since they give very good flavor to watermelon recipes. This time it&#8217;s just lemon and you will def enjoy it with your friends and family.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">There are many ways in doing this watermelon, but I lke this mess free and easy way. I don&#8217;t like making simple sugar syrup and then cooling and adding it to my watermelon. I like to blend it then filter it and enjoy the leon goodness directly. I don&#8217;t like adding sugar in any of my juices. I always have them just plain or sometime add honey. However this recipe needs little bit of sugar since it has to blend with lemon and mint. If you like honey flavor you can add just honey in place of sugar. This drink is very refreshing and can be made at all times. Love this when the sun is out burning.<br />

<p><em><strong>Lemon tea</strong></em> is  the best weight loss tea . Weight gain has been a big problem since we don&#8217;t follow a healthy lifestyle. Be it with eating food or hitting the gym or some basic exercise that we need for everyday lifestyle. <em><strong>Stress</strong></em> also plays a very big part in weight loss and even <em><strong>lack of sleep</strong></em> makes us gain weight. When you run or walk everyday at least for half an hour and take <strong>lots of fiber food</strong> everyday it will make a big difference. I never easily gain weight but pregnancy makes me gain like crazy. I have 2 kids and I usually gain 25- 30 kg . Yes you heard it right . I go from 52 kg to 80.</p>

<p>We all know losing weight after pregnancy is so hard. So I keep far away from exercise for 4 months since both my delivery was cesarean. We all know this again makes our body more difficult to lose weight. I always used to start my diet and exercise once the baby was 10 months since I didn&#8217;t want my milk supply to go shortage. At that stage till 10 month to 1 year feeding your baby is very very important. I had lost nearly 10 kg just like that without doing anything for my first kid. Feeding alone made me lose all that weight but for second kid it didn&#8217;t work that way.</p>

But before all this walking, first thing I do in the morning is drink this lemon tea in an empty stomach every single day and I have seen myself losing weight with in months. <p>1. In a pan add 2 cups of water and let it boil for 3 mins. When it's hot add cinnamon sticks and let it simmer for 5-8 mins. Then switch it off.</p>

<p>4. Drink while it's still warm. I usually will go for a walk after drinking this. This quantity will give you 2-3 glass. Drink it again after  you are back from your daily walk or running.</p>
<p>5. I have personally experienced good weight loss from this drink and walk. Slowly add simple exercises like situps and other exercises to see a significant weight loss.</p>

<p>Getting mangoes sweet or fresh can be sometimes difficult here so at those times, I bu canned mango that comes with Alphonsa or Kesar flavoured pulp. Try to use the fresh pulp possible but when mangoes are not in season and if you suddenly have craving for them like I always do then you can always get this mango pulp tin from store and use it for lasi or any mango pulp recipes. I love all kinds of lassi.</p>

Summer is near by and it&#8217;s very easy for our body to lose all energy due to heat. I live in California , right now weather is awesome but it get hot in few days.  With in 2 weeks it will be peak summer here. I need to keep up my strength doing all the household chores, cooking, cleaning, take care of 7 yr old daughter and not to forget 6 month old baby boy.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I need to have all the strength and I always forget to drink water since I am running around doing other works. This time I decided that I am going to fill my tummy with water based cooling fruits like watermelon, cantaloupe,honeydew and veggies like cucumber to save me from this hot sun. No more dehydration this time. Take lots of oranges and keep your lips from getting chapped. Cantaloupe Nannari juice or Kirni pazham juice is good when you feel tired.<br />

I know cranberries are good for women so thought of making fresh juice with them. Just like pomegranate, cranberries are very healthy for ladies uterus. I love the bright vibrant color that I get out of this fresh cranberries. Its quick and can be sipped whenever you please.</p>
<p>You can either make it thick and dilute with water and drink or can mix with fresh lemonade or with any fruit of your choice.  Also mix with ice-creams as milkshake or use the thick syrup as topping on ice cream.</p>

3. Let it steep for 10- 12 mins. Now switch off the stove. Add cinnamon now if you prefer.  Let it cool.Remove cinnamon sticks. Now keep the water separate and make a pulp out of cranberries and apple. Filter them well. Now mix water with the filtered pulp and add sugar and store it in an air tight container.<br />

All mom while they are pregnant tend to get tired towards first 3 months of pregnancy and last 2 months in pregnancy. Their iron is very low towards third trimester. More iron supply should be taken by mom during those times. Lots of people in India believe taking iron pill reduces the color in baby but its not true,though that belief still exist all around Indian mother mind. For such mom instead of pill intake try taking jaggery in warm milk for increase in Iron everyday. Its good for <strong>skin &amp; hair,strengthens muscle,helps in anemia,produces fresh blood flow in body and keeps your body brisk instead of being weak &amp; tired. </strong>Unlike regular white sugar this has no chemicals in them and jaggery is very good otherwise also. It has lots of health benefits.</p>
<p>So ladies def drink this 3 times in a week and you will benefit for sure. Pregnant women do take it must...diabetic mom can consult doctor and take this in smaller proportion or once in a week may be.</p>

                <p>1.  Heat milk in a pan. When done let it cool and when its warm enough add jaggery and elachi powder.</p>
<p>2. Mix it well and filter it. Drink this at least 3 times in a week and watch ur body getting brisk and your iron going up(helps in red blood cell increase)</p>
<p>3. Jaggery has lots of health benefits so its even recommended for regular people too. Since I am posting specially for pregnant mom, I am adding this extra information. Helps to avoid weak and tiredness. Strengthens muscle and increase in fresh blood flow.</p>
