Verkadalai Sundal(Groundnut/Peanut)
When I first heard about this sundal from my sister I knew I should definitely try it. This one was little different from our usual sundal and I really liked it. They make this on "Navaratri" Festival days. They make 9 variety of sundal in south India and offer it to god. So here is my Groundnut sundal recipe.
- Prep Time : 2 minutes
- Cook Time : 5 minutes
- Yield : 4
Ingredients
- Verkadalai/Peanuts - 1 cup
- Salt to taste - as per requirement
- For Seasoning:
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal(ulandham paruppu) - 1 tsp
- Dry red chillies - 2
- Curry leaves - as per taste
- Asofaetida(hing) - a pinch
- In blender:(To Ground)
- Coconut,grated - 4 tsp
- Red chillies - 3
- Curry leaves - as per taste
- Coriander seeds/dhania - 1 tsp
Instructions
1. Boil groundnuts for 2-3 mins it shouldn't get over cooked. Then throw away the water.
2. Now do the seasoning mentioned above,then add the boiled groundnut and mix it well. Add salt ,then to this add the grounded powder and sprinkle it on groundnut.
