Beetroot is my favorite vegetable next to potato.I use to stuff this into a cup and eat it separate like a snack when I was a kid .I used to like it that much I don't know y but I just love it.I have seen kids rubbing it to their lips to make it pink like lipstick I use to do it too when I was a kid,lot of good memories with it.

  1. Peel the skin of the beetroot and cut them half and grate them well.
  2. Blend coconut,jeera,garlic,green chillies together without adding water keep it separate.
  3. Heat the kadai/pan and pour some oil start doing the seasoning like mustard,urad dal,curry leaves,hing.
  4. Now saute the onion for a minute,now add the grated beetroot and saute for few minute then add salt &red chilly powder, close the pan with a lid and let it cook for 5-10.
  5. Remove from fire& mix the blender items like coconut,garlic,green chillies,jeera to the beetroot poriyal.
  6. Serve them hot with sambar,rasam.
