Lemon Rasam
Rasam is everyone's favorite and this one is very simple to make and all you need is dhal(paruppu)ready. I like its flavor a lot. I can assure everyone will like it. If you are bored of your regular rasam try this rasam. Lemon lovers will really like it. I like making this when I make vatha kulambhu(Tamarind based) blend of dal and tamarind curry goes well with our lunch. Now off to this simple lemon rasam....

Ingredients
- Toor dal,boiled - 3/4 th cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 1/2 tsp
- Pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Green chillies,long slit - 4
- Asofaetida(hing) - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander leaves,finely chopped - for seasoning
- Lemon - 2
Instructions
1. Cook dal with turmeric powder and keep it separate. In a kadai/pan add some oil then when the oil gets hot add hing.mustard,curry leaves and let them pop for few mins. To this add cooked dal and let it boil for few mins.
2. Now in a blender coarsely beat pepper and jeera and add it to the dal. Then add long slit chillies and let it boil for few more mins. Add 2 glass of water and let it boil. Rasam has to be little thick.
3. Add salt and switch it off. To this add 2 lemon juices and mix it well. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot with white rice. Enjoy the lemon flavored rasam with your family.
