Lemon Semiya/Lemon Vermicelli
Upma is a very common dish in our south side of India,this lemon semiya/vermicelli is very close to upma making.Its best for evening tiffens,my kid just loves this.Spicing different flavour to our regular semiya will definitely draw kids/adult attention.Just like lemon rice add vermicelli/semiya instead of rice.you can pack this as your kids lunch box dish will be ready in no time.

Ingredients
- Semiya/vermicelli - 1 cup
- Lemon - 1
- Green chillies,long slit - 6
- Ginger,grated - 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves,finely chopped - as per requirement
- Salt to taste
- For Seasoning
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal(ulandham paruppu) - 1/4 tsp
- Channa dal/kadala paruppu - 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves - as per requirement
Instructions
- 1. Roast the vermicelli/semiya with 1 tsp of ghee/oil in a kadai/pan till they turn mild brown in colour keep them separate.
2. Add oil to the kadai/pan add the seasoning items like mustard let it splutter then add urad dal,channa dal/kadala paruppu,curry leaves fry for some time.
3.Now add lemon juice,turmeric powder,salt and let it boil for a minute then add 2 cups of water and let it boil till the bubbles are formed.
4.Add semiya/vermicelli to the boiled water and let it cook for 5 min,add little oil to it so that they don't stick to each other.
5.once they are cooked remove them from fire and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
