Tamarind Sevai/Tamarind Idiyappam
There are many varieties in idiyappam/sevai occasionally I like making this one whenever I make tamarind mix for puliyodharai/pulihara/tamarind rice.I try to make idiyappam with leftover tamarind mix for dinner.Quick and tasty.

Ingredients
- Idiyappam - 6
- Tamarind juice/paste - 1 cup
- Dry red chillies - 10
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- For Seasoning
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal(ulandham paruppu) - 1/4 tsp
- Channa dal/kadala paruppu - 1/2 tsp
- Jeera - 1 tsp
- Asofaetida(hing) - a pinch
- Curry leaves - as required
- Groundnut/peanut - 1 t sp
Instructions
1. Click Idiyappam for the preparation.
2. Now break them with your hands in to fine shredded pieces do not press it too hard like paste just shred them softly.
3. Now heat the kadai/pan pour some oil add the seasoning items step by step then pour the tamarind juice and add half glass water more and let it boil for 10 min.
4. To this add turmeric powder,salt and hing. Let it cook for 10 more minutes until they become thick.
5. Now remove them from fire,cool it and add it little by little to the shredded Idiyappam according to your taste.
6.Fry some peanuts and garnish on top of it.
