Paanakam- My 300th Recipe

This paanakam or panagam is prepared during Sri Rama Navami and is offered to god as prasadham. But mom makes it very often since its good for health. I started making it regular too during summer season. Its very good for health since it has jaggery and dry ginger in it. Hubby likes it when he has cold or coughing bad. I feel so calm when I drink it. I wanted to make something sweet for my 300th post and I thought since it's my 1st recipe too since 2014 started, thought I will start with something sweet and healthy so choose this. Try this out it is very good for everyone.

  • Prep Time : 5 minutes
  • Cook Time : 10 minutes

1. In a bowl add water and add the jaggery in it. Let it soak for 10 mins. Then when the jaggery is fully melted mix it well.

2. I made powder out of the dry ginger. Now add it to the jaggery water, to this add pacha karpuram(if you want to have the temple taste)if you don't have pacha karpuram its totally fine.


3. Now mix elachi powder and stir all well. Taste the drink if you need more sweetness you can add extra jaggery. Now filter it well. Then add lemon juice and stir it again. Now serve it as offering to god or you can drink it chill. Its very tasty and healthy.
