Sweet Chutney(Chaat)

By October 26, 2012

Sweet Chutney is the easiest and tastiest chutney I have ever eaten. It just transforms the whole taste to new exploring level and they give so much taste to the food. Whether it's added to chaat items, sandwich item or any kebab or samosa items it brings excellent taste to the food. This chutney is def healthy too because of the dates present in them and it will compensate the spice in chaat with it's wonderful tamarind and dates combo.

Instructions

1. Soak dates and tamarind separately in a cup. Soak them for 30 min that way its easy to pulp them quickly. Then using hands/blender make a fine pulp, then strain them using a filter.

2.  Then place it in a kadai and boil then for few mins, add little water and boil them till thick. Now to this add some chilly powder, salt and black salt and mix it well. I personally do not dilute them much because when its made thick it stays for longer period. It should look like thick sauce when you reach that consistency switch it off. Now cool them and transfer this to a glass jar and store it in fridge, and dilute them only to the amount that I require for that particular recipe. you can use this more all kinds of chaat items like samosa, bhel puri, papdi chaat, dahi puri, pani puri and many more.

3. Enjoy the sweet chutney on any chaat item, spread recipes and for dahi vada or samosa or for sandwich. Yum yumm..
