Palak Pappu kura/Spinach Dal Curry
I lived in Andra during my childhood days i remember my neighbor aunty calling me home whenever she makes this dish, that heavenly smell of spinach dal mixed with ghee in hot white rice is simply divine and delicious .I remember nagging my mom to go to that aunty house and learn how to make it ..well I cant ask her because I was studying in 4th std,so till date I remember her whenever I make this it used to taste more good when she used to feed me with all that love in her heart.

Ingredients
- Spinach/palak - 1 full bunch
- Toor dal - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 2
- Green chillies,long slit - 5
- Garlic - 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Dhania powder/coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves,finely chopped - 1/4 cup
- For Seasoning
- Ghee/Oil - 3 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal(ulandham paruppu) - 1/2 tsp
- Jeera - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - as per requirement
- Asofaetida(hing) - a pinch
Instructions
1.Chop the spinach/palak and wash it well .
2.Add chopped palak,toor dal,tomatoes,turmeric powder,chilly pow,salt and pour 2 glass water and pressure cook them for 5- 10 mins.
3.Heat oil/ghee in kadai add the seasoning item one by one and saute them for 2 mins or until garlic is cooked.Now add this tempering to the dal and let it cook for 5 more mins.
4.Add the chopped coriander leaves and add 1 tsp ghee and let it cook for 5 more mins.
5.Serve this hot with white rice or chapathi.
