Potato Bonda

By January 17, 2013

Like I have been saying for the past one month its so cold out here and I am hungry 24/7 don't know why???but I can see myself getting hungry all the time. I thought some hot bondas might satisfy my hunger for few hours,so I made them in the evening and happily enjoyed it. It will taste so good with tomato sauce or Green chutney. It's very easy to make and everyone will love it.

  • Prep Time : 10 minutes
  • Cook Time : 10 minutes
  • Yield : 3

Ingredients

Instructions

1. In a pan add some oil and saute jeera, curry leaves, onion, ginger, green chillies for a min. Then switch off the fire.

2. Now boil some potatoes and mash them partially and add to this mix. Add salt and freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix it well. To this add lemon juice and mix them well again and make a small round balls and keep it in a separate bowl.

3. Now mix besan flour, rice flour, chilly powder, salt, soda and hing by adding water little by little and make a paste as shown in the picture. Consistency should be little thick so that its easy to dip the potatoes in this besan dough and deep fry them in a oil.(In a separate pan pour oil heat it and deep fry the potatoes dipped in besan liquid)

4. Now when they turn golden brown remove from oil and place it on a tissue paper to absorb oil. Then serve it with tomato sauce or green chutney. Enjoy the yummy hot aloo bonda.
