Red Coconut Chutney
Red coconut chutney or red chilli coconut chutney is very spicy and tast,y chutney for dosa or idly. I love it with adai variety too. They go very well with any south Indian breakfast recipes. Ingredients
- Coconut,grated - 1/4 cup
- Dry Red Chillies - 8
- Channa dal - 2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Tamarind - litlle bit
- Salt to taste
- For Seasoning:
- Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
- Channa dal - 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves - as per taste
- Asofaetida(hing) - a pinch
Instructions
1. In a pan add oil, when hot saute channa dal,urad dal and saute for few mins. Then add dry red chillies and fry it well.
2. Now add grated coconut and saute again for a min and switch if off. Let it cool. Add tamarind & salt then half a glass of water and grind it well.
3. Now remove from blender and transfer to bowl. Do the seasoning mentioned. Now serve with dosa.
